The game is set in 19th century Europe with a touch of the supernatural. Players are rival stage illusionists who strive for fame and fortune in order to come out on top in a magic competition. They seek its prize - the Trickerion Stone, which is believed to grant its owner supernatural powers.

Players must manage their teams of helpers - engineers, assistants, managers, and apprentices - to obtain blueprints and components for their increasingly complicated magic tricks.
